Call For Presentations

The ASWA/AWSCPA 2008 Joint National Conference is the single largest forum dedicated solely to women in accounting and related fields. This Call for Presentations invites ASWA and AWSCPA members, industry associates and business professionals to submit a written summary of an educational seminar for presentation at this premier conference.

As a seminar speaker you will receive the following benefits:

• Admission to all educational sessions;
• Admission to conference exhibits;
• All conference materials; and
• Admission to all daytime meal functions on the day you are speaking

Note: We are pleased to provide you with the above concessions; however, as a not-for-profit conference, we are unable to cover expenses or honoraria.

How to submit your seminar idea for consideration:

To be considered, your program abstract must reach JNC Seminars Headquarters at the address below by February 15, 2008. Any submissions received after this date will not be eligible for consideration.

As shown on the Submission Form, your entry should include:

• The suggested educational track
• Qualifications of all presenters, including co-presenters or panel members if applicable
  (Note: If you are an industry supplier, we request that you recruit a member of the profession to co-present with you.)
• A suggested seminar presentation title;
• A 75-word descriptive overview of the seminar topic;
• Three learning goals that session participants can expect to obtain;
• The required level of audience expertise and;
• A summary of your public speaking experience.
  

The amount of time provided for each session is 50 minutes. If you require an additional session to complete your topic, please indicate such on the Submission Form. If your session is selected and it requires more than the 50 minute timeslot, your session will be split into two or more 50-minute “parts” such as “part 1” and “part 2.” Please keep this in mind as you prepare your submission. In addition to the completed form, please include any handouts, video/audio tapes, or other materials that will be used in your seminar.

How seminars will be selected:

• Timeliness of content.
• Thought provoking nature of subject.
• Relevance of content to sound management and business practices.
• Focus and clarity of presentation (organization of materials, directness of message, etc.).
• Practicality of subject’s application.
  

The JNC program committee will complete program selection for the “Inspired Solutions” Joint National Conference by April 21, 2008. All submitters will be notified of results as soon as possible thereafter.
