Nominations should include background information on the nominee and the reason why she should be selected. Self-nominations are accepted.

AFFILIATE AWARDS

Star Affiliate Award
Affiliates are recognized for their accomplishments each year at the annual conference, and those accomplishments become an inspiration for other affiliates. Affiliates recognized as "Star Affiliates" receive a star to add to their banner each year.

Affiliates are asked to use this opportunity to share what went especially well in the fiscal year. There are no rules and affiliates may use any format to submit their nomination - have fun and be creative! Feel free to also include photos, mementos, program brochures, etc. to supplement your nomination submission. As an alternative you can submit the AWSCPA Silver Star Award form which is available by clicking here.

Here are some brainstorming ideas for nomination submissions...

  • What is your affiliate most proud of and how did you accomplish it?
  • What were your goals for the year and how did you meet them?
  • How did you do in member retention?
  • How did you do in new member recruitment?
  • Did you increase your scholarship dollars?
  • Have you done any creative activities to support your community and/or women CPAs?

Nomination submissions are due at the AWSCPA Administrative Office by July 30, 2010.

Your affiliate's leadership and success can help others achieve their full potential so everyone can win!

Affiliate Silver Star Award
In addition to the AWSCPA Star Affiliate Awards, the Society makes available the Silver Star Award, an alternative process whereby an affiliate might gain recognition for sustaining a healthy affiliate.  To participate, please complete this form and return it to the AWSCPA National Office prior to July 30, 2010..

The Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting (EFWA) was established in 1966 by the AWSCPA and the American Society for Women in Accounting (ASWA) to receive and manage funds for the advancement of education in accounting. It is a not-for-profit charitable organization with fund-raising activities aimed at helping women in the accounting profession. It is governed by an independent Board of Trustees. Members of both organizations may serve on the Educational Foundation's Board of Trustees.

The programs of the Educational Foundation provide benefits to AWSCPA members, ASWA members and women outside of the two organizations. The Laurels Fund provides scholarships to women pursuing advanced degrees in the field of accounting.
