2009/2010 GA AFFILIATE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD RECIPIENTS
On Thursday evening at our quarterly AWSCPA meeting at the Ravinia Club, we were honored to present scholarships to four very deserving accounting students. The scholarships of $1,000 each were awarded to the students to use for room and board next year.
Three of the scholarships were funded by the Atlanta AWSCPA-GA affiliate from the proceeds of our lunch, dinner and all day CPE sessions. This is made possible because of your support and attendance!
The fourth scholarship came from contributions in honor of Bobbi Stokes. We were pleased to have Linda Stokes and Jennie and Brian Andrew with us for this very special award.
Our deserving scholarship recipients for FY09/10 from the left are: 1) Amanda Aguirre (UGA); 2) Amanda Chamberlain (UGA); 3) Kelley Fiebiger Newberry (GSU) and 4) Winifred Akande (GSU). Winifred was the recipient of the Bobbi Stokes Memorial Award.
Our special thanks to Amy Knowles-Jones and her evaluation team of Tudeth Harmond, Sonia Camacho and Gloria Lewis for reviewing the scholarship applications. Thanks, too, to Floran Thomas-McFarland for the photo.
